<Dance Monkey>는 호주 출신의 싱어송라이터 톤스 앤 아이(Tones and I)가 2019년 발매한 그녀의 두 번째 싱앨범에 수록된 곡입니다.

이 곡은 토스 앤 아이가 호주에서 버스킹 할 때 있었던 일을 바탕으로 만들어진 곡입니다.

6시간 동안 버스킹하여 번 돈을 도둑맞고 공연을 종료하려는데 관객들은 '당신 때문에 가던 길을 멈췄으니 계속 노래해 줘'하면서 지속적인 노래를 요구하여 할 수 없이 계속 공연을 하게 되었다고 합니다.

노래 속의 'Monkey'는 어쩔 수 없이 계속 노래하여야 하는 자신을 비유한 것이 아닌가 생각되기도 합니다.

이 곡은 2019년 발표하자마자 세계 30개국 이상의 음원차트에서 1위를 차지하며 큰 인기를 얻었습니다.

토스 앤 아이는 2000년 8월 호주 출신으로 본명은 토니왓슨(Toni Watson)입니다.

 

 

2017년 9월 첫 버스킹을 시작으로 가수 활동을 시작하였으며 2019년 2월 Artists Only 및 Lemon Tree Music과 계약을 맺고 본격적인 활동을 시작하였으며 2019. 5월 발매한 싱글앨범 <Dance Monkey>가 전 세계적으로 히트 치며 이름을 알리게 되었습니다.
