<Paradise>는 1982년 캐나다에서 만든 영화 <Paradise>의 OST이며 이곡을 부른 피비 케이츠(Phoebe Cates)는 이 영화의 주연배우입니다.

피비 케이츠는 1963년 7월 16일 미국 뉴욕의 한 유대인 가정에서 태어났습니다. 조부는 러시아계 유대인 혈통이고 외조부는 중국계 필리핀인이었던 피비 케이츠는 원래 발레리나 지망생이었지만 15세 때 무릎부상으로 인해 그 꿈을 접고 모델로 데뷔한 후 배우로 전향하였습니다.

 

 

외조부가 중국계 필리핀인 관계로 피비 케이츠는 동양적 아름다움도 나타나며 일반적인 서양의 여배우와는 다른 친숙함이 느껴집니다.

 소피마르소, 브룩쉴즈와 함께 1980년대 청소년들에게는 책받침 미녀로도 알려진 피비 케이츠는 1989년 중견배우 케빈 클라인과 결혼 한 후 은퇴하였습니다.

영화 <파라다이스>는 사막에서 조난 당한 10대 소년, 소녀가 악당을 피해 간 곳이 바닷가 파라다이스로 그곳에서 이들은 조금씩 성에 눈을 뜨고 사랑의 싹을 키워간다는 내용의 영화로서 피비 케이츠의 노출신이 상당히 심하였던 영화였습니다.
