우리나라에서 많은 사랑을 받았던 카펜터즈의 최대 히트곡으로 한국인이 좋아하는 팝송 선정 시 항상 상위권에 이름을 올리기도 하는 추억의 팝송이기도 합니다.

 

 

사랑하는 사람이 생기니 세상 꼭대기에 올라간 듯 온 세상이 다르게 보인다는 밝은 멜로디의 사랑에 빠진 사람의 마음을 잘 표현한 노래입니다.

이 곡은 동생 카렌 카펜터(Karen Anne Carpenter)의 편안하고 부드러운 목소리와 함께 부담스럽지 않은 서정적인 컨트리 풍의 멜로디가 특히 우리나라 정서에 잘 어울리는 듯합니다.

카펜터스의 동생인 카렌 카펜터가 1983년 거식증의 후유증으로 사망하면서 카펜터스는 자연스럽게 해체되었습니다.
